The Story Behind the Collection
Across the river from the old trading town of Hoi An lies Kim Bong, a quiet village where the art of woodcarving has been passed down for generations. Since the 1400s, artisans here have shaped wood by hand, blending styles from Vietnam, Japan, China, and Europe into intricate works that once decorated temples, homes, and traditional boats.
When mass production took over, this centuries-old craft nearly disappeared. But a handful of master carvers refused to let it fade. They began teaching young apprentices, reviving the spirit of craftsmanship that built their village’s legacy.
Each piece in this collection carries that story - a link between past and present, made by hand with patience, care, and the timeless beauty of Vietnamese artistry.
